BANGTAN AT HOGWARTS: JUNG HOSEOK

Hoseok is a half blood raised by his witch mother after his father abandoned the family upon learning that his wife was magical. Never knowing the man well enough to miss him, Hoseok spent a fairly normal childhood in Ottery St Catchpole and it came as no surprise when he started showing signs of magic aged six. 

Upon his arrival at Hogwarts, Hoseok was sorted into Slytherin and in no time at all he was thick as theives with two of his housemates in the same year: Shin Donghyuk and Daniel Snoeks. The trio were suspected by all to be behind the disappearance of more than a few curse books from the restrcted section in the school library, which would go some way to explaining their astounding prowess as a duelling team. 

In third year, Hoseok tried out for the Slytherin quiddich team for the first time. As he’d always been a fast, confident flyer he intended to try out as a chaser but thanks to an admin mixup he was thrown in with the hopeful beaters on the day - a lucky twist of fate for Slytherin house as Hoseok turned out to be one of the team’s most successful beaters in living memory. 

Whilst Hoseok rarely topped classes he never lacked for intelligence and was more than willing to work hard at school. Still, his teachers were thoroughly stunned when in sixth year Defence Against the Dark Arts he managed to perfectly fend off the Legilimens charm on his first try. Hoseok’s talent in Occlumency was no doubt very handy when he came to apply for a position as an Auror after finishing school. 

Largely believed to be urban legend, it is rumoured that some students try to trick the sorting hat. Of all the students this has been said about the case against Hoseok is perhaps the most compelling. Those who saw him sorted report that he was certain he was going to wind up in Hufflepuff only when he put the hat on it took one minute and fourty two seconds for it to rather sharpply announce that he was a Slytherin. Hoseok encountered the sorting hat on several more occassions throughout his life, but it always refused to talk to him.
